To Whom It May Concern:

At the end of November I am planning a move to Fort Myers and am looking for employment in the interior design field.

I am currently an Interior Designer/Project Manager for a small interior design firm in New York City. We specialize in high-end residential and hospitality projects, primarily based in the New York area. My work with this firm includes design duties as well as managing budgets, creating specifications, and ongoing contact with vendors and clients. I use AutoCAD and Studio Designer on a daily basis, and am proficient with Photoshop and Design Manager.

I have Bachelors of Science in Environmental Engineering and Literature from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After college, I worked in the Environmental Consulting field for several years. While a consultant I began taking interior design classes at FIT, and was able to transition into the design field. I have worked in interior design for about five years, and am now seeking a position in a larger firm with an architecture practice that will provide me with fresh opportunities to learn and grow as a designer.

In the workplace I am easygoing yet efficient. I am a very task-oriented and independent worker, but thrive in a collaborative environment. My background in engineering has given me the ability to learn new technologies and software quickly, as well as solve problems creatively. In addition, my humanities and design experience allow me to effectively communicate myself both verbally and visually.

Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to discussing potential openings with your firm.

Sincerely,

Katie Jeffreys
