Nov. 2002        Conducted visual and subsurface investigations of properties around New York State as a part of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments. Wrote Environmental Impact Statement Hazardous Materials chapters.

Dec. 2001        Coordinated on-site interviews to determine local site needs for major waste management company’s e-procurement effort. Summer 2001   ISDGM – Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Intern                                                            Venice, Italy

                                Developed a computer model of dissolved organic carbon in the Adriatic Sea taking into account settling and aging of carbon. Modified pre-existing code to create a more realistic model of carbon’s interaction with sea life.

 

Summer 2000   Ford Motor Company, Associate Research Engineer                                                           Dearbon, MI

                                Located and quantified the use of PVC and Hexavalent Chromium in Ford vehicles. Established benchmark procedures for analysis of vehicle lines and substance-of-concern measurement techniques. Created a phase-out plan incorporating material alternatives and supplier relations. Established a recycling strategy for the TH!NK Neighbor.

 

Summer 1999   Thetis s.P.a., Intern                                                                                                        Venice, Italy

                        Developed a method for cartographic data interpolation and produced maps of environmental data in the Venice Lagoon. Constructed computer programs that performed calculations on large data sets. Created a web-based display of mapped conditions and updated a web page for an international environmental assessment program.
